6 Week Wednesday Night Wheel Throwing Class W/ JoAnn Flotemersch October 21 – December 2

$255.00

6-Week Wheel Throwing Class

Wednesdays, 6–9 PM
October 21 – December 2

This popular class has sold out twice — reserve your seat early! :)

Join us for a relaxed and hands-on introduction to wheel throwing in a small group setting. With enrollment capped at 6 students, everyone receives plenty of individualized guidance, demonstrations, and feedback throughout the session.

Each week will focus on core pottery techniques such as centering, pulling walls, shaping forms, trimming, and finishing, followed by dedicated practice time at the wheel. Whether you're completely new to clay or returning after some time away, this class is designed to help you build skills and confidence in a supportive, creative studio environment.

By the end of the six weeks, students will have created several functional ceramic pieces and developed a strong foundation in wheel throwing and studio practice.

JoAnn has been working in ceramics for nearly two decades and has taught at a wide variety of studios and educational programs, including an Art Institute, city ceramics studio, high school, and community center. Her introduction to clay began within the Japanese ceramics tradition, with a teacher whose thoughtful approach continues to influence her practice today.

In addition to teaching, JoAnn creates functional pottery, tile murals, and community-based public artworks. She brings a deep knowledge of both studio practice and technical processes — from wheel throwing and glazing to kiln loading and studio setup — along with a genuine love of helping others discover their own connection to clay.
